Frequently Asked Questions
Proofs
What does a valid proof mean?
A valid proof indicates only that specific content existed in a specific form at a specific point in time and was cryptographically finalized.
It does not assert truth, accuracy, ownership, legality, or intent.
What does ImmutableProof not do?
ImmutableProof does not interpret content and does not provide legal, financial, or compliance advice.
Can a proof be revoked?
The protocol does not define revocation. Existing proofs are not modified retroactively.
Verification
Can verification be done offline?
Verification is specified to be possible without reliance on ImmutableProof services.
Do verification results change over time?
Verification results are deterministic for a given proof and protocol version.
Payments
What am I paying for?
You pay only to create a new finalized proof.
Does payment affect verification?
No. Verification results do not depend on payment.
What happens if payment fails?
No proof is created. Existing proofs remain verifiable.
See: Failures.
Longevity
What happens if ImmutableProof shuts down?
Existing proofs remain verifiable according to the published protocol specification.
Is this blockchain-based?
No. ImmutableProof does not depend on any blockchain.
